Stoo Network
Welcome!
You have reached the new home page of the Stoo Network. This site serves as the main portal to various services, mostly accessed through the Member's Area. You will also find links to my various projects, be they personal, professional, or academic in nature. Have a look around.

It's been almost exactly two years since I updated the site. Here's what has happened since:
- I've graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS in Computer Science in December 2005. The previous April I began working for Ciena, an innovative builder of fiber optic equipment. I'm a Lead UNIX System Administrator, and the job is challenging.
- I moved back into the house that I own and I'm working on getting the place in better shape. It's slow going, but the place is looking nicer as time goes on.
- Stoo Network has moved into my new house, as of yesterday. I've got some pics:
- Image 1: The bottom half of my server cabinet. Kami is on the top, Gohan is the bottom right, and Vegeta is the bottom left. The device on the bottom is my 2U APC 2200 UPS with network management card (of course). Kami, Gohan and Vegeta are really old systems at this point and I'm going to move to...
- Image 2: ... these systems, and more that I haven't racked yet. I've got two more 1U servers and 3 2U servers to rack. I plan to get rid of the three desktops entirely. The new ones are all either dual PIII-800s or dual PIII-1000s. I'm also going to build a new storage server and use iSCSI to access its disks eventually. Also note the huge tape array, just like the one I used to manage at an old job. I'm in love with this device.
- Image 3: The back of the legacy systems and the UPS.
- Image 4: The back of the tape array and the 2 1U systems. Note the DLT cases holding up the back ends because I don't have proper rails yet.
- Image 5: Here's my switching and routing equipment, as well as the patch panel that leads to all the rooms in the house. The router is a Cisco 1760 and the switch is a Cisco 2950. I'm a big fan of this equipment--they are very capable devices. The blue wires just hanging out there will soon be replaced by a set of patch panels, one in this telecom rack and the other in the 4-post cabinet.
Changes in this site (most made today):
- I took down the photo gallery.
- I updated the Friends page to reflect new URLs.
- A new root certificate, as the old one expired.

I have added the following sections:
- A project on setting up a WikkaWiki with PAM Authentication, including a patch to WikkaWiki itself. Also, the Stoo Network Wiki has been replaced with this configuration, so the wiki only allows logins from Stoo Network users.
- A section to the wiki for the ScAN project. Hopefully it will become a place for collaboration for the various projects hosted here.
- A new Statistics page with links to web stats for the various Stoo Network sites.
- A page detailing the various services available.
- The skeleton of an information page about myself.
- A link to the Stoo Network Root Certificate to allow for easier distribution.
- A Friends section for links to my friends' websites and quotes.

I have added a link to my new Photo Gallery to the "Main Site" section on the left navigation bar. I will be organizing and uploading my photos soon.
Also, I have added a link on the left to my MediaWiki installation, though I'm not sure what it will be used for yet.
Stay tuned!

The new site was put into production today. The primary changes from a stock Apache Forrest install involve the 'Member's Only' login at the top.
