Personal Projects

Projects I've pursued on my own time:

  • Linksys WRT54G/GS - This is a sweet little router by Linksys/Cisco that happens to run Linux on a little-endian MIPS processor. It has 802.11B/G wireless and a 5 port switch that supports VLANs. The best part is that Linksys makes their work available and there are several projects to flash it with your own image. This project is my effort to get the WRT54GS to function as a fully-fledged router, with SNMP, routing daemons, IPsec, and the like. This work uses the OpenWRT project's image as its basis.
  • WikkiWiki PAM Authentication - This project patches WikkaWiki to allow users to authenticate against PAM rather than allowing arbitrary registration. It also guides the user through securing the site so that everything is read-only by default.
